Rihanna, the Barbadian sensation and world’s wealthiest female musician with a net worth of $1.4 billion, has renovated her Los Angeles residence. She paid $21 million for a condominium in one of the most prestigious residential skyscrapers, The Century. The penthouse occupies the entire 40th floor and offers more than 9,000 square feet of living space, as well as four distinct outdoor terraces with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, Catalina Island, Downtown Los Angeles, and the San Gabriel Mountains.
Rihanna’s decision to upgrade her place of residence was influenced by the birth of her first child and the impending birth of her second child. Her previous residence was a lesser luxury condominium in The Century than her new penthouse. Nick Molnar, the billionaire co-founder of Afterpay, was the original seller of the penthouse. He demanded $28 million for the property. However, Rihanna negotiated a $7 million discount, presumably due to the impending increase in Los Angeles’s mansion tax.

Matthew Perry, the actor from Friends, initially designed the penthouse, and Molnar made no modifications to his designs. The condominium has a private elevator landing that opens into the foyer. A curved wall of floor-to-ceiling windows offers a breathtaking view of the cityscape from the living room. In the dining room, dark brown hardwood floors transition into a white kitchen with marble countertops, dual islands, and premium appliances.
The penthouse features a soundproof movie theater with velour sofas as well as a master suite with a curved bedroom, dual bespoke closets, and dual bathrooms, as well as its own private lounge. The most impressive features of the penthouse are the four distinct outdoor terraces that face four different directions and offer breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area.

The Century, designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and completed in 2010, is one of Century City’s most prestigious residential high-rises. The building features a 24-hour concierge and security guards, four deeded parking spaces in its subterranean garage, access to an outdoor swimming pool and lush gardens, on-site storage facilities, a restaurant, and more. The building’s monthly HOA fees are $8,814.
Reality television personalities Denzel Washington and Terry and Heather Dubrow are also notable residents of The Century. Candy Spelling, the widow of the late Hollywood producer Aaron Spelling, has a two-story condominium on the 41st and 42nd floors of the building.
Rihanna also reportedly owns two adjacent estates in the mountains above Beverly Hills that are rented out to tenants. Rihanna’s acquisition of the penthouse in The Century puts a stamp of approved on her fortune and success in the music industry.
